YOUTH SERVICES Program description
Goodwill provides the following for people between the ages of 16 to 24:
- Work-readiness preparation
- General equivalency diploma (GED), English as a second language (ESL) and
adult basic education (ABE) preparation
- Occupational skills training
- Life skills and character development training
- One-on-one case management services in a flexible, community-based model
- Individualized assessment, counseling and career preparation
- Job search and placement assistance
- Post-employment services including assistance with job retention and advancement
Entry requirements
Goodwill staff will help individuals determine if they meet all entry criteria. Participants must
- Be between the ages of 16-24 years of age
- Live in Marion County
- Meet income criteria
- Provide necessary documents such as birth certificates or income verification
- Have parental consent if younger than 18 years of age
- Have proof of U.S. work eligibility
- Face a barrier to employment such as being pregnant or parenting, having
a criminal history, being homeless or being deficient in basic skills
- Be willing to actively participate in services for a period of at least one year
- Demonstrate need (as determined by the Goodwill case manager)
